Why should I try pole dancing?
Pole dancing offers you a unique combination of cardio and full body weight exercises in addition to the great benefits of flexibility, balance, mind-body connection, and fun/sexy dance. Do I need to have any dance background?
No you don’t. You will learn everything you need to know in the studio. Start in the beginner classes on the schedule, and slowly work your way up when your body feels ready to. I have no upper body strength, will that be a problem?
It is not a problem. Our job is to get you stronger! You will learn everything you need to know on how to become stronger in your upper body, core and all over body fitness. What should I wear?
Please wear short shorts and a tank top. Sports bras are recommended for protection and support. Pole fitness requires that a lot of skin is exposed, especially in the shoulders, arms, stomach, legs, upper inner thighs, ankle, feet, as you need to stick to the pole. Fabric will slide right off the pole, giving you no grip. Is there a changing room in the studio? Showers? Lockers?
The changing area is in the bathroom at the studio. We have no lockers and you'll be responsible for your own belongings. Theft has never happened at the studio but in order to avoid accidents, it is recommended that you not to bring anything valuable to class. If you have to bring something valuable with you to the studio, please let us know when you come to class. What else should I know?
DO NOT wear any lotion on your hands and legs the day of a pole fitness class. Sweating will release the lotion back to the surface, and you will be sliding off the pole, which will cause injury and danger. Leave your jewelry at home because it could cause damage to our apparatuses and you will be held responsible. You will not be allowed to wear it in any of the pole classes. |
What is the difference between LPS and other pole studios?
At Ly's Pole Studio, you will get a unique blend of all styles of pole including acrobatic, exotic, contemporary, and more. Classes are 90 minutes long and very well-structured with the balance between fitness and dance. Each class incorporates climbs, inverts, spins, and dance inspired floorwork. By cross training all these elements of pole, you will walk away from each class having learned something new to add to your pole repertoire. At Ly's Pole Studio, we strive to help you become a well rounded dancer. Do I need to sign up in advance for a class?
Space is very limited so you are encouraged to sign up at least 24 hours before the class you would like to attend, to ensure your spot in class. Walk in students are accepted if there is an open space in class and the class must be open to all levels. Contact us to sign up. Are all pole classes open to all levels?
Most classes are categorized as BEGINNER, INTERMEDIATE, ADVANCE. Please contact us for registration of your level. Can I still participate in class if I show up late?
Please to show up at least 10-15 minutes ahead of class, as the studio has a strict no late entry policy (refer to POLICIES). Be here early enough to change and be ready to start class on time. Student arriving 15 minutes after class start will not be allowed to participate in the class and will not be refunded for the class. Should I bring my heels to pole classes?
Heels are not required, especially for those with little to no pole dance experience. For beginners, heels are not recommended, however, if you want to dance in heels please feel free to bring them to class. Street shoes, street heels, or any shoes with metal buckles are not allowed; only heels that have a proper rubber bottom are permitted. Otherwise, you will be dancing with bare feet. |
